I know it's been a long wait, but it will be worth it - and there was a good reason WHY it took so long...

I was so frustrated to have the publishing date pushed back once, twice, now we're up to about the 3rd time - but here's the thing, even without a book in hand, I will stake $24.99 that this book will be just as good as the rest of the books that she's written. For those who don't know, Judith's mom was really sick and she took time off to take care of her. My sincerest condolences go out to her as I've heard that her mom has since passed away. I think everyone frothing at the mouth over all the delays needs to take a step back and ponder: what's more important, spending the last moments you have with a loved one caring to their needs - or meeting a deadline so folks like us can curl up with a great book before bedtime.... hummmm.... I think that if you have to pause to actually answer that then you need to get yourself back to church/temple/or whatever other place of worship tickles your fancy. PEOPLE ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN BOOKS! I'd be thoroughly disappointed in Ms. McNaught if she chose to ignore her mom instead. I'll wait - I don't mind - and I promise you that as soon as we can preorder, my credit card digits will be flying across the wires...

Can't wait

About 10 years ago my mother handed me my first Judith McNaught novel, Perfect. I am the last of five girls and my mother has shared her Judith books with all five of us on the condition she gets them back. We all fell in love with the characters and could not wait to read the next one my mother would hand to you. Unfortunately my mother is suffering heath issues herself at 86 years old and my only hope is that Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You will be published before it's to late for her to read it. Judith McNaught is by far my mother's favorite author.

Thank you Judith M. for the numerous hours of entertainment, the laughter, the tears, the joy. Your books actually take me into another world. There, I experience right along with your characters that seem real to me. I have all your books and every three years or so read them all starting with Kingdom of Dreams and read them in story order, then when I am almost finished with the last book, I actually feel sad, even bereft, that the characters will no longer be a part of my daily life!

Please know how sorry I am for your losses. I have been concerned and wondering, and missing your talent. I am so looking forward to enjoying the next book. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with all of us these past years.

Basics of Computer Simulation of Plasmas

I've never done any computer simulation for plasmas before and was looking for a good introduction to how to go about it. I found this book to be an excellent introduction. Much better than any of the review articles I found on the subject, which tend to be terse. This book goes step by step and walks you through everything that goes into a very basic 1-D electrostatic code. It then tells you how to turn the electrostatic code into an electromagnetic one. The middle section of the book deals with the numerical methods used from a more mathematical standpoint (convergence & stability) and the last part goes into making 2D and 3D codes. I have to admit that I've only read the first part and glanced at the later sections for reference, but so far it's been an excellent reference.

My only complaint is that I wish there were a newer edition. The computational power the book assumes is much less than is currently available and in some ways that complicates the methods that are used. It does, however, teach you to be more efficient. I also found it annoying that the example code is in Fortran. I find it hard to understand Fortran code given the (necessarily) cryptic variable names and weird syntax.

classic book that needs to be revised

Its a classic book with great content... but so disappointing that the content hasn't been updated. The code presented is so out of date now that very few new physics students will be able to understand and read the codes. Someone needs to do a modern port to c or python. Then this book could be re-released as an up to date and state of the art text book.

Best Book on Food Combining

I loved this book and started to do the combining like she says and Lost like 10 pounds in two weeks. I didn't have to give up good food just how I consumed it. I have gotten my sister and my friend to do it as well. It takes some getting use to as you just can' t have some things like a sandwich the old way with bread and meat so now you just think outside the box and have a lettuce wrap instead. I ate butter and olive oil and sometimes had something sweet just not with meat and only with a starch meal. Once you wrap your head around the method it is easy and so nice to eat things that on the other diets I have been on they banned. Also I have been on many diets in my life and this is by far the easiest to me. The author writes in plan language so you understand why you don't mix certain foods and how to keep this going. Really loved this book. Best one on Food Combining yet.

Not very indepth

I found the writing style of this author easy to follow and conversational. A reader with little knowledge of nutrition might find this to be very helpful. As a person widely read about nutrition I found really only one page that contained precisely what I was looking for. It was good information and made the idea of food combining much easier than so many other authors but I would have liked more indepth information about food combining.

Very complete - answered so many questions for me

I was very pleased with this purchase - much more so than I thought. I've purchased a good many books on food combining, but this was the most thorough by far. Before I really got through the bulk of the book, I had planned on contacting the author with a few questions I've had for a long time. The funny thing is, the more time I spent with the book, all of the answers were provided to the questions! Really awesome. Kathryn, you truly do rock!!! And thank you -- from someone whose health is important to her, and feels your support in the pages. It's obvious that you took special care to be as open as you are and in your sharing so much about food combining.

This story was so much like what was happening in our home when I began to read it, that it was hard to read. Some have criticized the author about saying the same things over and over, but that is the reality. That is what it's like when you are a parent of a child with an eating disorder. Your days become a blur of 3 meals and 3 snacks with unending drama before, during and after each meal and snack. I appreciated the honesty in this book, and that it was told from a parent's perspective.

This well written book gives a great understanding of the terrible disease of Anorexia Nervosa. It demonstrates the daily battle with eating disorders and how parents can stay strong. The battle is not just immediate but long term. It never goes away and can rear is ugly head at any time . It highlights the daily battle that an Anorexiic faces with food, anxiety and depression.

Who knew?! Great information!

A truly easy read that presents a spectacular coaching (self-coaching or even team coaching) model. Who knew?! Well apparently Mr. Fine knew! :) This was my first exposure to the GROW model and I love its simplicity and all the explanatory information in the book. I don't know that I will ever be great, but I can at least use the GROW process when setting, reviewing, and working through goals.

Nothing new but well packaged use of the GROW model. Useful for those taking on leadership roles. Case studies are not substitutes for role-playing.
