Eve Dallas shows up to investigate the grisly killing of a New York City prostitute only to find a note from the killer on the body. Robb (aka Nora Roberts) continues to write great murder mysteries

J.D. Robb (aka Nora Roberts) continues to write great murder mysteries, with quirky and unusual characters. After my first experience reading
them, I went back to the beginning and tried to pick them up in chronological order. It's been tough, but I'm close to current now, and still
enjoying them. Some of the science fiction movies about the future have caused me to "picture" some of the things she mentions, and now that it's 2016, a book set in 2065 doesn't seem that far off. It's also nice to relax and just enjoy a fun book without having to study it.

the ones I do not have. My biggest problem is with the print. I order only hardback with large print. I have never read anything bad from
Nora Roberts. Just want to read more with large print.

Good, but not the best in the series

J. D. Robb's '"In Death" series, featuring Lieutenant Eve Dallas, is a great detective series. Because Robb (aka the best-selling Nora Roberts) is best known for writing romance stories, many detective fiction fans have overlooked these books. They shouldn't.
That said, "Imitation in Death" is missing one key feature in my opinion, and that's tension. As always, Robb/Roberts has painted the future with great skill, and it's rewarding to visit again the returning characters. But in the best of the series, for example "Conspiracy in Death" and "Portrait in Death", there's conflict to be solved among the protagonists as well as conflict with the criminals. In this book, everything just feels a bit too smooth.
